Web Conferencing with Grant Financial Officers

Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning

The Mighican Office of Highway Safety Planning found that grantees were making common errors when submitting year-end financial reimbursement requests. To address these errors comprehensively, the office decided to organize and invite grantees to participate in an online web conference. Thirty-nine people participated, and the conference lasted 90 minutes. The service was provided courtesy of USDOT/FHWA and the National Highway Institute (NHI).

The web conference provided the ability to ask questions via a 'chat' tool, view questions and answers, ask a series of questions and gauge participants responses in real time, and share documents. It was a great resource to save staff travel time and cut down on costs.
